This house occupies a fantastic site in an isolated location near the Essex coast.

The ugly old property was given a makeover and extensively upgraded to accommodate a large family. The house has been developed sustainably, using were ever possible the existing fabric. It has been re-planned, altered and extended to provide additional accommodation, with new entrances, windows, services and facilities throughout. The roof profiles have been remodelled to sit more comfortably in the landscape. A large new first floor living room offers uninterrupted views across the estuary. The ground floor opens out across its width to a generous new south facing terrace.

The works to the house were undertaken in conjunction with alterations and extension to the grounds.
